Alley Cat Allies

Advocating for all community cats.

Community cats are often misunderstood, and Alley Cat Allies is out to change that perception. This reputable organization is a resource for thousands of dedicated cat caregivers, advocates, nonprofit groups, and volunteers. They provide education and support for TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and SNR (Shelter-Neuter-Return) programs, and low-cost spay and neuter programs. They also work to bring vital information about community cats to institutions and communities, in hopes of combating false claims that get cats killed in shelters. In addition, they’re strong advocates for anti-cruelty laws that protect all cats in the U.S. — including community cats.

American Association of Feline Practitioners

AAFP

Trusted leader in feline health and welfare for the veterinary community and cat caregivers.

Since 1974, the AAFP has supported its members in improving the health and welfare of cats through high standards of practice, continuing education, and evidence-based medicine. Always looking to advance best practices in feline care, the AAFP launched the Cat Friendly Practice® program (CFP) in 2012. By providing veterinary practices, teams, and professionals with tools, the CFP program reduces the stress associated with veterinary visits for cats and their caregivers, and improves the treatment, handling, and overall healthcare provided to cats. With the belief that cat caregivers are instrumental to feline welfare, in 2017, the AAFP also launched Cat Friendly Homes, a reliable resource powered by feline practitioners designed specifically for cat caregivers who want to learn more about their cat’s natural behaviors, the importance of routine veterinary care, and provide the very best care for their cats.
