Cat Art & Art Cats Would Love

bastet

Team CatCon recently visited Frieze Los Angeles, one of the most important international contemporary art fairs in the world.

While we were there we saw a number of works featuring cats that we (of course) loved. But we couldn’t help but notice that there were a lot of pieces that would turn almost any cat into an art lover, too!

Art with Cats

Grey Cats Guarding Platter, Joan Brown
Bastet, Linda Stark
Unyaco Noir, Iso Togawa
Three Wise Cats 03: Kikanyai, Iso Togawa
A Villain Oliver, Gimhongsok

And then… there were works that we think cats would likely appreciate.

Sculpture… or favorite scratching toy?

Meaningful art, but also hard to resist testing out one’s claws on…

Stacked Spaces, Kishio Suga
Cardboard, paint
Don’t Silence Science, Andrea Bowers

10/10 Would Climb

Beautiful statement pieces… and perfect perches.

Selection of works by Élise Peroi

Outlines, Lisa Williamson

Gonna Just Knock This Off and Take a Nap

Carefully placed. Artfully placed.  Perfectly placed to be removed.

Fruits of Labor, Alicja Kwade
Weed Pots, Doyle Lane

If I Fits, I Sits

It’s like a cat-shaped spot just waiting to be filled. Don’t threaten me with a good time!
