5 Cat Ladies We Love
This year marks CatCon’s fifth Anni-furr-sary! To celebrate, we’re making lists of fives! April 19th is National Cat Lady Day, so let’s take a look at 5 of our favorite cat ladies.
5. Taylor Swift
If you take one look at Taylor Swift’s Instagram page, you’ll see it’s littered with sweet photos of her cats, Olivia Benson and Meredith Grey. In fact, Taylor’s got an online store featuring shirts, patches, pins, and other flair fashioned after these two kitties AND she’s starring in the film production of Cats. From beginning her career off in fashion as a model and later becoming the fashion editor at British Vogue, working as the creative director for American Vogue, and everything in between, @therealgracecoddington has done it all. Her passion for fashion and art influenced the pages of Vogue and the likes of the fashion industry. To this day, she is one of the most influential, and successful women in fashion and will always have her place in the industry.
Grace Coddington, the creative director of Vogue magazine, is the fiercest cat lady there is! Cats often serve as muse to her iconic work, including her own purrsonal felines Pumpkin and Blanket.
3. Carole Lombard
The actress Carole Lombard adored animals of all kinds, but she and husband Clark Gable had a soft spot for cats. Her striking beauty made her the perfect cover girl for Diane Lovejoy’s Cat Lady Chic.
Like Taylor, Kesha’s feline affections are overly evident on her Instagram where the singer frequently features her kitties Charlie, Mr. Peep$, and Queso. Feast your eyes on this amazing family portrait! The kitty love is palpable.
1. Freddie Mercury
Freddie Mercury an honorary cat lady? You better believe it! According to those who knew him, Freddie treated every single one of his kitties like they were his children… all 10 of them. Yes, ten: Tiffany, Dorothy, Delilah, Goliath, Lily, Miko, Oscar, Romeo, Tom and Jerry.
