5 Unexpected Cat Lovers from “Ted Lasso”
“Ted Lasso” fans, rejoice! The show is back for its third and final season. Most of the cat action on the show takes place off camera – like when Roy’s niece Phoebe takes antihistamines to deal with her allergy rather than give up her beloved kitten, and that time our hearts melted when we learned about Higgins’ devotion to his 20 year-old cat (R.I.P. Cindy Clawford).
But we learned that a lot of our favorite actors from the show are cat fans off-screen as well.
Brendan Hunt, aka Coach Beard said of his cat on the Today show:
“It’s a girl named Lucy. I just want to make it very clear, I am not a cat person. Yes, every third picture on Instagram is of my cat. My girlfriend had a cat, now I live with that cat, I’m allergic to cats, I take two kinds of medicine every day just to survive. I am not a cat person. Would I kill for that cat? YES.”
Much like her onscreen persona Rebecca, when she’s with cats Hannah Waddingham shows she can be cool and oh-so-sophisticated…
Or warm and caring!
Onscreen, Sam Richardson played spoiled, entitled billionaire Edwin Akufo. In real life, he’s a proud cat dad!
Dr. Sharon Fieldstone is a no-nonsense professional therapist when she first meets Ted. At home, the actress Sarah Niles is a cat mom and fan of Bodega Cats!
Even Anthony Stewart Head, who plays baddie Rupert Mannion, played a part in cat cinema history as James Bowen’s father in A Street Cat Named Bob.
We’ll just leave you and your kitty with some words to live by from “Ted Lasso”:
“I think that if you care about someone and you got a little love in your heart, there ain’t nothing you can’t get through together.”
